Employment-related Assessment and Counselling

Finding meaningful work impacts all aspects of our wellbeing, assisting with self-esteem, providing income to live, assisting to build a sense of purpose and belonging and providing an opportunity to build networks and develop friendships.

Despite this, only half of working age NDIS participants are employed, with many unemployed participants having trouble finding work.
What is Employment-related Assessment and Counselling?

This funding, available under the ‘Finding and Keeping a Job’ section of your NDIS plan, is to provide workplace assessments and counselling to aid participants in finding a job. This support may benefit participants who have experienced traumatic injury and require significant support to develop a new work pathway.

Our team of psychologists and provisional psychologists will work with you to undertake a vocational assessment, which will:

Analyse your transferable skills
Identify your existing qualifications and experiences
Identify career opportunities and other potential areas of employment
Take into account exiting medical restrictions
Identify any reasonable adjustments that may be required to maximise your experience at work

Following the vocational assessment, your Carfi consultant will work with you through the job seeking phase providing vocational counselling, soft skills development training, assistance building your emotional and mental resilience and will provide you with tools to overcome any challenges you may face in the workplace.
