Over the last 6 months, Carfi’s team of Provisional Psychologists worked tirelessly in the development of an 8-Week Positive Psychology program aimed at Year 10 secondary school students.
The program was based on Professor Seligman and Dr Peterson’s work in Positive Psychology, specifically Character Strengths and Virtues (2004) and Professor Seligman’s PERMA theory. The program provided students a platform students to learn about their own character strengths and how to ‘flex’ their strengths, as well as providing them with positive psychology strategies to use in their own life to enhance their health and well-being, assist in improving their performance at school and improve interpersonal relationships.
Carfi was provided a wonderful opportunity to pilot the program with a group of 25 Year 10 students from a local highschool. The program was well received by the students and teachers and the feedback received thus far has been very positive!
Over the next 12 months, Carfi will continue to offer this program at secondary schools in Melbourne; with the aim of continuing to develop the program to target a broader range of ages in the school setting, as well as adults.
