Carfi continues to expand its Australian presence with the opening of an office in Canberra

We are pleased to announce that Carfi will be delivering its full suite of services from Canberra as of the 22nd October 2015. This is Carfi’s third state office since we opened our first office in Melbourne over 25 years ago, followed by a successful launch in Sydney in 2011.

Mr Gus Carfi, Managing Director of Carfi, said the opportunity to open a Carfi office in the nation’s capital had been planned for some time:

“Our move into Canberra reflects our continued and very strong growth nationally, as well as our growing demand from our Commonwealth Government client base. The new office will enable us to serve our Canberra based clients with local facilities and specialised local knowledge.”

Carfi now delivering NES under WorkSafe VIC!

As of 1st July 2015, Carfi is delivering New Employer Services (NES) under WorkSafe VIC. In the lead up to July, Carfi took part in working groups with WorkSafe Victoria regarding changes to the NES model as a matter of improving service delivery and ensuring greater outcomes for Injured Workers. Carfi is pleased to be working within this model and welcomes the changes that have been introduced by WorkSafe as we believe them to be pivotal in increasing opportunities for injured workers to return to work.

Carfi takes pride in its service delivery and has a long-standing reputation in the industry, particularly in managing complex physical and psychological cases. Carfi’s team is comprised of a large group of psychologists and Vocational Specialists, in addition to its dedicated multidisciplinary team who are committed to addressing barriers to return to work leading to greater return to work outcomes.

Positive Psychology Pilot Secondary School Program a Success!

Over the last 6 months, Carfi’s team of Provisional Psychologists worked tirelessly in the development of an 8-Week Positive Psychology program aimed at Year 10 secondary school students.

The program was based on Professor Seligman and Dr Peterson’s work in Positive Psychology, specifically Character Strengths and Virtues (2004) and Professor Seligman’s PERMA theory. The program provided students a platform students to learn about their own character strengths and how to ‘flex’ their strengths, as well as providing them with positive psychology strategies to use in their own life to enhance their health and well-being, assist in improving their performance at school and improve interpersonal relationships.

Carfi was provided a wonderful opportunity to pilot the program with a group of 25 Year 10 students from a local highschool. The program was well received by the students and teachers and the feedback received thus far has been very positive!

Over the next 12 months, Carfi will continue to offer this program at secondary schools in Melbourne; with the aim of continuing to develop the program to target a broader range of ages in the school setting, as well as adults.

If you are interested in running a Positive Psychology program at your school or organisation, please contact Bernadette or Gus on 1300 737 403.
